Veritas Check is pleased to be working with Scouts WA for the processing of Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks (also referred to as a National Police Check or Volunteer National Police Check) for adults applying to join Scouts WA as an adult member or volunteer. Scouts WA is committed to operating in accordance with Scouts WA Child Protection Policy.

After undertaking a review of their internal processes, Scouts WA began working with Veritas Check to identify a compliance solution to ensure the electronic protection of Member data, especially personal identification data, while providing background check results in minimal time. Ease of use for both applicants and administration staff were a priority.

Together with Veritas Check, Scouts WA are now implementing a secure system allowing members to apply for a police check at their own convenience. The process commences once Scouts WA has received an applicant's completed Adult Membership Form. Applicants receive an email from Veritas Check (sent to the email address provided on the membership form) requesting them to complete an online Police Check application.

The process for new and existing Members usually takes around 10 minutes and can best be completed using a mobile device. Both the Member and Scouts WA will receive an electronic copy of the applicant's Police Check results.

There is no cost to the applicant or Adult Member for a Police Check from Veritas Check if completed through the email hyperlink provided.

By utilising Veritas Check’s online application and digital processing, applicants can expect a faster police clearance turnaround and an increased level of security of their personal information. Scouts WA benefits by increasing its ability to remain compliant with its obligations to ensure it appropriately screens Adult Members.
